Lori Trahan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts' 3rd district, has been actively engaging with her constituents and addressing significant national issues through a series of public statements on social media.

On April 17, 2025, Trahan expressed her commitment to protecting Social Security and Medicaid. She emphasized the importance of maintaining full benefits for those who have contributed throughout their careers, stating "From their very first paycheck, folks contribute to Social Security and Medicaid over a lifetime of hard work – they deserve nothing but the full benefits they’ve earned, not senseless cuts to the programs they rely on." Trahan visited Methuen to discuss this with seniors across Massachusetts' 3rd district.

On April 18, 2025, Trahan highlighted the necessity for political leaders to prioritize public interests over partisan allegiance. She asserted that "The American people deserve elected officials who are serious about lowering costs and improving lives – not serving a president."

Later the same day, Trahan reflected on a somber historical event by marking the anniversary of the Cambodian genocide. On her social media, she noted "Last night at Proleung Khmer, we gathered to commemorate the painful anniversary of the Cambodian genocide, when over a four-year period, the Khmer Rouge regime murdered nearly two million innocent people. To ensure that this tragedy is never forgotten, I’m proud to reintroduce..." This ongoing commitment highlights her dedication to historical remembrance and education.

Lori Trahan has been serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, following her tenure in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She was born in Lowell and is an alumna of Georgetown University.
