Lori Trahan, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts' 3rd district, shared a series of posts on social media on April 15-16, 2025, addressing significant national and local issues. The tweets highlighted her concerns over terrorism, political silence, and potential Medicaid cuts, reflecting her ongoing advocacy in Congress.

On April 15, Trahan commemorated the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, noting, "Twelve years ago, an act of terror shook Massachusetts to its core. On #OneBostonDay, we remember the innocent lives lost, honor the courage of first responders, and hold close the families whose worlds were forever changed by the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing." This tweet reflects the collective memory and resilience of Massachusetts as the community observes #OneBostonDay.

On the following day, April 16, Trahan criticized congressional Republicans stating, "Republicans in Congress continue to remain silent as Elon Musk, RFK Jr. and the Trump Administration gut essential programs that hardworking Americans rely on. It’s a slap in the face to the families doing everything they can to give their kids a better future." Her concern highlights the impact of political decisions on essential social programs and the future of American families.

Later that day, Trahan expressed her apprehensions over potential Medicaid cuts by House Republicans, saying, "If House Republicans cut Medicaid to lower taxes for billionaire donors like Elon Musk: Children battling rare diseases will lose their care; Seniors will be forced out of assisted living facilities; Folks battling addiction will be denied treatment." Such statements reflect her advocacy for vulnerable populations who could be affected by policy changes.

Trahan, who took office in 2019, has a background in public service starting from the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She was born in Lowell in 1973 and currently resides in Westford. Trahan is an alumna of Georgetown University, where she earned a BS in 1995.
