Graduation Analysis: 3.4% fewer students graduated from Woburn Public Schools District in 2022-23 school year

Woburn Public Schools District had an 89.7% graduation rate during the 2022-23 school year, 3.4% lower than the previous school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 261 students who graduated in the 2022-23 school year, compared to 312 the year before.

Woburn Public Schools District and Taunton Public Schools District had the 56th lowest graduation rate in the state.

Woburn Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Middlesex County and has a main office in Woburn.

In 2024, public schools in Massachusetts boasted a graduation rate of 90%, according to Public School Review.

However, younger students' proficiency is still lagging behind pre-pandemic levels. NAEP results show that in 2022, less than 47% of the students were considered proficient in math and reading, with eighth-graders performing the worst, reaching only 35% proficiency in math.
