Tyngsborough Public Schools: Which ethnic group was most represented in 2022-23 school year?

White was the most represented ethnicity among Tyngsborough Public Schools students in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

In total, there were 1,097 white students enrolled, accounting for 70.1% of the district's student body.

The number of white students attending schools in the district decreased 8.4% from the previous school year.

Meanwhile, American Indian or Alaska Native students were the least represented ethnic group within the schools in Tyngsborough Public Schools.

Tyngsborough Public Schools roughly covers schools within Middlesex County, and has a main office in Tyngsborough.

The total number of students attending the district’s schools fell to 1,566 over the 2022-23 school year.

Students in Massachusetts are predominantly white, according to state data from 2023-24, representing 53% of the state's student body.

Across the state, Hispanic and Latino students saw the highest high school dropout rates.

Under representation is also found among educators in Massachusetts. The Rennie Center reported that only 7.8% of teachers identified as people of color in 2022.
