The Lowell Academy Hairstyling Institute enrolls 95 undergrads

At the Lowell Academy Hairstyling Institute, 54 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 97 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The private for-profit school in Lowell enrolled 95 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. No undergraduates were transferred from another college or university.

87 percent of undergraduates are residents of Massachusetts, and 7 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (58 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (29 percent).
