In a post dated March 27, 2025, Lori Trahan commented on actions by the Trump administration, echoing concerns about free speech and civil liberties. She highlighted a specific case involving Rumesya Ozturk, who was allegedly detained by non-uniformed federal agents. Later that day, Trahan expressed her sorrow following the death of Kitty Dukakis. Trahan described Dukakis as a remarkable woman whose life touched many, including her own.
