Lori Trahan, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts' 3rd district, has recently expressed her views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Her comments span topics such as healthcare costs, legislative inactivity, and historical remembrance.
On January 25, 2025, Trahan addressed the issue of insulin pricing. She stated that "For too long, Big Pharma has ripped off diabetics by jacking up the price of insulin." She highlighted her vote to cap insulin prices at $35 a month in an effort to end what she described as "price-gouging" and to provide financial relief for residents in her district. "I voted to cap the price of insulin at $35 a month and end price-gouging of patients in need of medicine – saving #MA3 residents hundreds or even thousands each year!"
Two days later, on January 27, 2025, Trahan criticized House Republicans for their lack of action regarding cost reductions for working families. She remarked that despite January nearing its end, there had been no votes aimed at lowering expenses for these families. Trahan further noted that the week's agenda lacked scheduled votes while accusing Republicans of spending time at a luxury golf club owned by the president in Florida. "January’s almost over, and House Republicans haven’t called a single vote to lower costs for working families."
Later on January 27th, Lori Trahan paid tribute on Holocaust Remembrance Day by honoring those who perished during this tragic period in history. In her message, she emphasized the importance of remembering the victims' stories and lives to ensure such atrocities are never repeated. "Today, on Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the 6 million Jews and millions of others who were murdered in the Holocaust."
