Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter District’s student-to-teacher ratio fell by 1.6% in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter District fell by 1.6% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 965 students being taught by 80.3 teachers in Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter District, which covers schools within Middlesex County and has a main office in Marlborough. That's an average of 12 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter District had 966 students and 79.4 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts has roughly one teacher for every 13 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
