Tewksbury Public Schools District’s student-to-teacher ratio fell by 0.8% in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Tewksbury Public Schools District fell by 0.8% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 3,180 students being taught by 255 teachers in Tewksbury Public Schools District, which covers schools within Middlesex County and has a main office in Tewksbury. That's an average of 12.5 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Tewksbury Public Schools District had 3,182 students and 252.6 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
