Concord is in the process of updating our housing plan! The purpose of the Housing Production Plan (HPP) is to help Concord find the best ways to meet its housing needs and shape the location, type, and design of development. The HPP will consider best practices to help promote diverse housing options that are sensitive to the community context and capacity. When communities encourage homes of many types and many housing strategies, it helps give all kinds of people affordable options.
Our current HPP expired in 2021, and the Concord Housing Roundtable Steering Committee is hard at work with our housing consultants at JM Goldson to update our HPP. As part of this process there have been multiple opportunities for Concord community members to be involved and help shape the recommendations in the plan. The project team held focus groups this spring, launched a survey, held a public forum in June, and will be holding an additional public forum in September.
The next opportunity to participate is coming up soon! Join us to define goals and strategies.
