The UMass Lowell baseball team secured a 4–3 walk-off victory over NJIT in the tenth inning on April 11 at Edward A. LeLacheur Park.

The win gives the River Hawks a series lead and improves their record to 13–17 overall and 5–6 in America East play, while NJIT falls to 10–19 overall and 2–9 in conference games. The close contest featured strong performances from both teams, with UMass Lowell ultimately prevailing in extra innings.

Junior Rowan Masse led the offense by going 3-for-4, including a double and the game-winning single that drove home graduate student Jorge Burgos for the deciding run. Senior Joseph DeLanzo also contributed with three hits, a double, and an RBI. Graduate student Jorge Burgos added a hit and scored once during the game.

On the pitching side, senior Jacob Jette started for UMass Lowell with six strikeouts over more than six innings of work. Sophomores Jake LeFrancois and Nolan Geisler combined for four scoreless innings out of the bullpen; Geisler earned his third win of the season after recording three strikeouts across two frames.

NJIT took an early lead with two home runs in the first inning but was held scoreless after that as UMass Lowell’s pitching staff settled down. The River Hawks chipped away at the deficit throughout regulation before tying it up at three runs apiece late in the game. In extra innings, defensive plays by Geisler set up Masse’s walk-off single to center field.

UMass Lowell is scheduled to conclude its series against NJIT on Sunday, April 12 at Edward A. LeLacheur Park.
