The City of Lowell will hold a Fourth of July celebration on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, from 5:00PM to 9:30PM at Boarding House Park, 40 French Street, in downtown Lowell.
All are welcome to the free, family-friendly event, featuring live music and entertainment, leading up to a fireworks finale after the sun goes down. Tee and the Gents and Xtine and the Intents will hit the stage, and food trucks parked along French Street will offer food and drink for purchase. Cirque de Light will roam French Street with a variety of street performers and face painting, and Bubbles McGee will delight the crowd with a magical bubble experience. The Office of Cultural Affairs and Special Events will be on hand in the Like Lowell tent with more information about visiting Lowell.
"We're beyond excited to bring our Fourth of July celebration to Boarding House Park this year," says City Manager Thomas A. Golden, Jr. "We're looking forward to a fun evening filled with good food, music, and celebrations with neighbors, friends, and family. We're grateful to the National Park Service for their support in bringing these festivities to a venue ideally suited for reflecting on how far we've come as a city."
Lowell's Independence Day Celebration had previously been held up the road at LeLacheur Park, which recently changed ownership to UMass Lowell. The venue change will allow UMass Lowell's planned renovations of the park to continue unimpeded.
Special thanks to Nancy Donahue, Mahoney Oil, Eastern Salt Company, Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union, Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank, Enterprise Bank, The Demoulas Foundation, The Greater Merrimack Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau, and all of our other generous sponsors!
The rain date is scheduled for Friday, July 7, 2023. For event information and updates, please visit: https://www.likelowell.com/4th-of-july
