Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district, addressed a recent incident at the University of Massachusetts Lowell through her official social media account. In a series of posts on September 3 and 4, Trahan communicated updates and expressed gratitude for law enforcement’s response.

On September 3, Trahan advised residents to heed instructions from local authorities, stating: “I’m actively monitoring this situation and in touch with local officials. If you are in Lowell, please follow directions from @LowellPD and @UMassLowell.”

The following day, she commented on the ongoing investigation at the university: “As police continue investigating today’s incident at @UMassLowell, I’m relieved that no one was harmed. Officers remain on campus to ensure the safety of students and city residents.

I am deeply grateful to the law enforcement officers from @UMLPDLowell, @LowellPD and”. She also shared an additional link related to the incident: “https://t.co/nF6n29UotD”.

Lori Trahan has represented Massachusetts’s 3rd District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Niki Tsongas. Prior to her congressional service, she served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973, Trahan currently resides in Westford and graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
