Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, has highlighted several recent community initiatives and achievements through her social media posts. On March 9, 2026, she noted the opening of a new educational resource in Fitchburg: “Great to see the Fitchburg Public Schools Welcome Center has opened! As a mom of two girls in public school, I know how valuable it will be for families and students to have a one-stop shop for all things education in their community.”

The following day, on March 10, Trahan shared her experience volunteering at a local food bank: “Today, my team and I volunteered at @MVFoodBank where we packed hundreds of bags of healthy foods that students across the Merrimack Valley will be able to bring home to their families for the weekend. Grateful to the incredible folks at the Food Bank who work tirelessly to”

On March 11, Trahan recognized young constituents who have chosen military service: “I had the privilege of celebrating some of the most remarkable young people in our district — the nominees to our nation’s service academies. These young men and women didn’t choose the easy path. They chose to serve. At a moment when American servicemembers are deployed abroad”

Trahan was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1973 and currently resides in Westford. She graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995. Before her tenure in Congress began in 2019—when she succeeded Niki Tsongas—she also served as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
