Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, highlighted local education achievements and legislative concerns in a series of posts on her social media account.
On December 11, 2025, Trahan acknowledged the dedication of educators in her hometown: “As a proud Lowell Public Schools graduate, I’ve seen firsthand how our educators work hard to ensure students have access to a quality education. It’s great to see their efforts rewarded with this recognition!” She is an alumna of Lowell Public Schools and was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1973.
Later that day, Trahan commented on recent Senate actions related to health care policy: “Almost every Republican Senator just voted to increase health care costs for 20 million Americans.”
On December 12, 2025, she congratulated a local student for winning a national competition: “Congratulations to Reya Kannan from Chelmsford High School for being named the #MA3 winner of the Congressional App Challenge. Reya’s app, Yard2Yum, helps support our communities by reducing waste, supporting local agriculture and promoting a more sustainable and environmentally”
Trahan has represented Massachusetts’ 3rd District in Congress since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995 and currently resides in Westford.
