Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, shared a series of posts on her social media accounts in early September 2025, highlighting issues ranging from healthcare to economic opportunity and the cost of living.

On September 4, Trahan posted: “I’m proud to call Massachusetts home. We’re committed to protecting our kids, our loved ones battling cancer, and our neighbors with rare diseases.”

Later that day, she commented on national economic challenges by stating: “Higher prices. Expensive healthcare. Hungry families. That’s Donald Trump’s America.” This message underscored her concerns about rising costs and access to basic needs under former President Donald Trump’s policies.

The following day, on September 5, Trahan reflected on her personal background and the broader American experience: “My parents achieved the American Dream thanks to my dad’s career as a union ironworker. We had a roof over our heads, food on the table and the opportunity to get ahead. For too many in our country, that same chance is out of reach. We need to fix that.”

Trahan has represented Massachusetts’ 3rd District in Congress since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
