Lori Trahan, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, has expressed her views on various issues through social media posts in early June 2025. Known for her active engagement in public matters, Trahan’s statements reflect her positions on LGBTQ+ rights, antisemitism, and healthcare policy.
On June 1st, Lori Trahan celebrated Pride Month by acknowledging the strength and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. In her post, she stated: “Happy Pride! This month, we celebrate the strength, resilience and joy of the LGBTQ+ community. Pride is a reminder that love is powerful, and that equality is worth fighting for every single day.” She emphasized the ongoing struggle for equal rights by concluding that their work isn’t finished until everyone can live freely without fear.
The following day, on June 2nd, Trahan addressed an incident in Boulder involving elderly Jewish Americans. She described it as appalling and labeled it as an act of antisemitism. Her tweet read: “What happened in Boulder is appalling. Targeting elderly Jewish Americans engaged in a peaceful protest on the eve of Shavuot must be called what it is — a heinous act of antisemitism.” Trahan called for condemnation of this attack and highlighted concerns over rising antisemitism across the nation.
Later on June 2nd, Trahan criticized former President Donald Trump’s healthcare policy with regards to its impact on Massachusetts residents. She posted: “267,788. That’s how many Massachusetts residents will lose their health care because of Donald Trump’s so-called ‘big, beautiful bill’.” She underscored that these individuals are not merely statistics but include children with complex needs who would be affected by potential healthcare cuts.
Lori Trahan has been serving Massachusetts’ 3rd District since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019. Born in Lowell and currently residing in Westford at age 49, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University obtained in 1995.
