Lori Trahan, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, recently shared her views on several pressing issues through social media. Trahan, who succeeded Niki Tsongas and has a background in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, often addresses matters impacting her constituents.
On June 9, 2025, Trahan expressed support for the efforts of the Massachusetts Governor to address the state’s housing challenges. She noted that “As Massachusetts faces a housing crunch, @MassGovernor’s work to expand supply and make owning a home more affordable is exactly what we need.” She emphasized the importance of progress in communities like Lowell and Fitchburg.
Later that day, she criticized former President Donald Trump’s policies regarding food assistance programs. Trahan stated that “Every time Trump cuts funding for food assistance and nutrition programs, it’s working families who pay the price.” She argued against characterizing these cuts as fraud prevention measures.
On June 10, 2025, Trahan highlighted the significance of the Job Corps Program in Massachusetts. She remarked that “For more than 60 years, the Job Corps Program has helped Massachusetts workers develop the skills and opportunities necessary to succeed in good-paying skilled jobs and trades.” Furthermore, she led a congressional delegation urging action from Donald Trump concerning this program.
Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, Lori Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
