Lori Trahan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, recently addressed efforts to remove Dr. Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve Board of Governors through posts on her official social media account.

On August 26, 2025, Trahan stated: “Dr. Lisa Cook is a highly respected member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Efforts to remove her without a shred of credible evidence are not only unfounded, they are dangerous. Undermining the independence of the Federal Reserve risks eroding America’s global economic”. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, she graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
