Lori Trahan, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, used her social media platform in mid-December 2025 to address issues concerning veterans’ health care and bipartisan efforts to lower health care premiums.
On December 16, 2025, Trahan posted on X: https://t.co/d3d3D68JL6.
Later that day, she criticized the Trump administration’s actions regarding the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In her post dated December 16, 2025, she stated: “The Trump administration forced 30,000 employees to leave the VA this year. Now, they’re eliminating 35,000 health care positions veterans need. These are reckless cuts that hurt the men and women who volunteered to serve our nation.”
The following day, December 17, Trahan commented on bipartisan cooperation for lowering health care costs: “We found ONE Republican who wants to lower health care premiums. Just need three more to force a vote.”
Trahan has represented Massachusetts’s 3rd District in Congress since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
