Lori Trahan, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019 and a Georgetown University graduate, has taken to social media to express her criticisms of Donald Trump’s performance during his first 100 days back in office. Trahan, born in Lowell, Massachusetts, and currently residing in Westford, has served in the U.S. Congress following her tenure in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
On April 30, 2025, Trahan posted on Twitter, expressing her views on Trump’s initial months of governance. She wrote, “In his first 100 days back in office, Donald Trump has done exactly the opposite of what he promised hardworking families.” Trahan criticized the administration’s approach to taxing middle-class families, cutting essential federal programs, and affecting community safety.
Later that same day, Trahan continued her critique of Trump’s economic policies. She stated, “In just 100 days, Donald Trump has run the economy into the ground.” Highlighting economic struggles, she noted rising prices and declining markets, emphasizing the increasing difficulties faced by working families.
Commemorating a historical event, Trahan also paid tribute to Vietnamese-American communities. She posted, “When Saigon fell on April 30, 1975, generations of Vietnamese people were forced to flee an oppressive tyranny in search of democracy.” Trahan acknowledged their courage and the significant role that Vietnamese-American communities now play in shaping the nation, marking the 50th anniversary of this event.
Trahan’s observations on both domestic policies and historical commemorations reflect her continued engagement with national issues and cultural awareness.
