Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, has used her social media platform to comment on national policy and its effects on American families. In a series of posts made on September 21 and 22, 2025, Trahan criticized former President Donald Trump’s actions and highlighted concerns about healthcare access for women.
On September 21, Trahan posted: “While Donald Trump tries to dictate what’s on late night TV shows, hardworking families are struggling with higher costs, fewer jobs and a broken economy.”
The following day, she addressed the issue of women’s health care in relation to proposed Medicaid funding cuts under the Trump administration. On September 22, Trahan wrote: “Millions of women rely on Planned Parenthood clinics for basic health care – from preventative cancer screenings to prenatal care.
Trump’s Medicaid funding cuts will put that care out of reach for millions of women, threatening their health, their safety and their families.” She also shared a separate post linking to additional information: https://t.co/JGXgSJfXSg.
Trahan has been an advocate for healthcare access during her tenure in Congress. She succeeded Niki Tsongas in representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district after serving in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
Her recent comments reflect ongoing debates over federal healthcare policy and economic conditions affecting American families.
