Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, recently used her social media platform to address issues ranging from healthcare workers’ recognition to economic concerns and educational investments.

On December 4, 2025, Trahan commented on a recent decision by former President Donald Trump regarding nursing degrees. She wrote, “If you have a nurse in your life, you probably already know this – they’re pissed right now. That’s because Donald Trump just decided that their nursing degrees aren’t ‘professional.’ Talk about a slap in the face.”

The following day, on December 5, 2025, Trahan addressed economic policy and its effects on American families and manufacturing jobs. She stated, “Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs are making life unaffordable for families. Now, they’ve caused us to lose manufacturing jobs for NINE straight months, a dangerous sign for our economy. Republicans in Congress must act to end Trump’s tariffs.”

Later the same day, Trahan acknowledged efforts within Massachusetts to improve access to behavioral health education funding. She posted: “Thanks to @MassGovernor, students at @Fitchburg_State and several other schools across the Commonwealth will receive $25 million in financial aid to pursue a degree in behavioral health. This investment will make us better prepared to tackle the mental health crisis and help”

Trahan has represented Massachusetts’ 3rd District since replacing Niki Tsongas in 2019 and previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, she graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
