Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, posted a series of tweets on January 6, 2026, addressing concerns about public safety and vaccine messaging from prominent political figures.
In her first tweet, Trahan stated, “Donald Trump was warned that releasing violent extremists without accountability would put our communities at risk. That warning was ignored. Now, five years after January 6th, America is less safe.” (January 6, 2026).
She continued in a follow-up post: “Now the consequences are clear. Dozens of pardoned January 6 offenders are already facing new criminal charges, including child sex crimes, illegal weapons possession, drunk driving, rape, and in multiple cases, deadly outcomes.” (January 6, 2026).
Later that day, Trahan addressed public health issues regarding vaccines for children: “The 2024-25 flu season saw the highest number of children in the U.S. die from the flu in 15 years. How are Donald Trump and RFK Jr. responding? They’re telling families it’s not necessary to get your kids’ flu or RSV vaccines. This is reckless.” (January 6, 2026).
Trahan has served as a member of Congress since replacing Niki Tsongas in 2019 and previously worked in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She was born in Lowell in 1973 and currently resides in Westford. Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
