Lori Trahan, a U.S. Congress member representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, shared her views on healthcare and innovation in a series of tweets. Her statements reflect her commitment to advocating for children’s welfare and advancing medical research.
On July 8, 2025, Trahan expressed concerns about the impact of political decisions on vulnerable populations, stating that “37 million kids depend on Medicaid. 15 million kids depend on SNAP. Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress put their health care and food at risk to pay for giant tax breaks for billionaires.” This tweet highlights her opposition to policies she believes jeopardize essential services for children.
Later that day, she posted a link without additional comment, possibly pointing to related information or resources pertinent to her earlier statement.
In another tweet from the same day, Trahan praised Veranova’s contributions to healthcare innovation in Massachusetts. She noted that “Veranova exemplifies the spirit of innovation that keeps Massachusetts at the forefront of health care advancements and cancer research.” She emphasized the importance of investments in groundbreaking research and job creation within the state.
Trahan has represented Massachusetts’ 3rd District since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1973, she currently resides in Westford and holds a BS from Georgetown University.
