Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, addressed several national issues in a series of tweets on December 17, 2025. Her posts focused on health care legislation, support for servicemembers with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), and recent employment statistics.
On the topic of health care reform, Trahan criticized Republican proposals and called for bipartisan action. She wrote on December 17: “Nothing in the Republican health care ‘plan’ will stop health care premiums from skyrocketing for 20 million Americans. It’s time to shelve this bill and call a vote on our bipartisan legislation to end this crisis and protect Americans’ health care.”
Later that day, she highlighted the issue of TBIs among military personnel and her legislative efforts to address it. On December 17, Trahan stated: “Since 2000, 500,000+ servicemembers have been diagnosed with TBIs, and the real number is likely much higher. I introduced bipartisan legislation with @RepDonBacon to ensure servicemembers get the right care at the right time and protect long-term health and mission readiness.”
In another post concerning economic conditions under former President Donald Trump’s characterization of recent years, Trahan said: “The U.S. lost 105,000 jobs in October and unemployment reached its highest level since COVID. That’s what Donald Trump is calling the golden age of America?” This comment came as job losses were reported alongside rising unemployment rates.
Trahan has served in Congress since replacing Niki Tsongas in 2019 after previously working in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, she graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
