On April 10, Lori Trahan expressed her disapproval of the Republican budget proposal. Trahan stated, “Make no mistake: The Republican budget puts the richest 0.1% of Americans first, and working families dead last.” She criticized cuts to Medicaid and food assistance programs, describing them as a move to provide tax breaks for campaign-funding billionaires.
Later that day, Trahan criticized congressional Republicans for recent legislative decisions. She noted that Republicans voted to reduce healthcare and food assistance for families and simultaneously passed a bill affecting voter rights for millions. Trahan tweeted, “Republicans in Congress just hit the American people with a one-two punch.” She labeled these actions as disgraceful and asserted that the fight is ongoing.
Trahan also took to the social media platform to invite her constituents to a forthcoming town hall. On the same day, she communicated, “As your representative, nothing is more important than hearing your concerns, answering your questions, and making sure I’m fighting for your priorities in Washington.” She invited her followers to join her at a town hall scheduled for April 14 in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
As Congressman, Trahan has consistently engaged in dialogues to address local and national issues. A Lowell native, she resides in Westford and holds a degree from Georgetown University. Her commitment to serve is evident in her active participation and communication through various platforms.
