Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, has recently addressed several national and local issues in a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On November 2, 2025, Trahan criticized former President Donald Trump’s decisions regarding federal assistance programs and foreign aid. She stated, “Donald Trump has cut off funding for SNAP and LIHEAP, programs that families rely on to keep food on the table and stay warm during the winter months. And yet he’s sending $40 BILLION to bail out Argentina.”
The following day, November 3, Trahan commented on the ongoing government shutdown and Congressional activity. She wrote, “Week 6 of the GOP government shutdown and Republicans in Congress have been on vacation the whole time. The worst part? Speaker Mike Johnson just extended their getaway.”
Later that same day, Trahan responded to news of Setti Warren’s passing with a tribute highlighting his public service career: “Setti Warren’s sudden passing is a heartbreaking loss for Massachusetts and for everyone who believes in the power of public service to change lives. He dedicated his life to serving others as a Navy veteran, the first Black mayor elected in Massachusetts, and a mentor to”
Trahan has represented Massachusetts’ 3rd District in Congress since replacing Niki Tsongas in 2019. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
