Lori Trahan, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, has shared her thoughts on various topics through recent social media posts. Trahan, who succeeded Niki Tsongas and has a background in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, often addresses issues pertinent to her constituents.
On June 13, 2025, Trahan reflected on the enduring legacy of the Lowell Folk Festival. She stated that “For decades, the Lowell Folk Festival has brought hundreds of thousands of artists, concertgoers and visitors to the Mill City for a celebration unlike any other.” Despite financial challenges attributed to “reckless funding cuts under the Trump administration,” she emphasized that “the festival lives on – because our community knows.”
Later that day, Trahan commented on economic issues linked to cryptocurrency policies under former President Donald Trump. She remarked that “Trump promised DOGE would lower costs for Americans. Instead, it’s made life more expensive for families.”
On June 14, 2025, Trahan marked Flag Day with a message emphasizing unity and national values. She wrote: “Happy Flag Day, #MA3! Today, we honor the emblem that unites us all as Americans and the principles it stands for.” She added that even during challenging times, “the flag reminds us who we strive to be: a nation of liberty and justice for ALL.”
Lori Trahan was born in Lowell in 1973 and currently resides in Westford. She graduated from Georgetown University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
