Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, used her social media platform on January 9, 2026, to voice criticism of federal officials and call for legislative action regarding military engagement abroad.
In a post published at 16:41 UTC, Trahan stated, “DHS Secretary Kristi Noem should be removed from office. Her incompetence makes our communities less safe.”
Later the same day at 19:08 UTC, she commented on former President Donald Trump’s reported actions concerning Venezuela: “Donald Trump checked in with oil corporations – not Congress – before sending the U.S. military in to enact regime change in Venezuela. Now, he’s leaving the door open for American boots on the ground in South America. We must pass the War Powers resolution now.” In a subsequent post at the same time, she shared a link without additional commentary: “https://t.co/lnyeUoIdco”.
Trahan has represented Massachusetts’s 3rd District in Congress since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019 and previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1973 and currently resides in Westford. Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
