Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, has highlighted recent federal funding achievements in support of affordable housing and healthcare infrastructure in her district through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On August 19, 2025, Trahan announced the allocation of significant federal resources to Lawrence, stating: “Every family deserves to feel safe and have a home they can count on. That’s why I fought to secure $11.8M in federal funds to deliver affordable housing and make the city safer for Lawrence residents!”

The following day, she shared details about an expansion project at a local health facility: “Yesterday, we celebrated the opening of the @GLFHC’s West Site Expansion & Renovation project — a major project that is increasing the facility’s capacity for serving patients. Proud to have secured $2 million in federal funding to get this project done!” This post referenced efforts to improve healthcare access by expanding Greater Lawrence Family Health Center’s facilities.

Later on August 20, Trahan emphasized support for senior citizens and affordable housing initiatives in Methuen: “Seniors deserve to live in a quality, safe home they can afford. That’s why YWCA’s work to build nearly 100 new affordable housing units in Methuen is so important, and it’s why I secured $11.8 million to help them complete this important initiative!”

Trahan has served as U.S. Representative for Massachusetts’ 3rd District since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019 and previously held office in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, she graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
