Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, addressed a range of issues affecting her constituents in a series of tweets posted on November 4 and 5, 2025.
On November 4, Trahan highlighted concerns about rising costs for families during the holiday season, stating, “Hardworking families are struggling with high prices everywhere they turn – the grocery store, the pharmacy, their monthly bills. Now, Trump’s tariffs are going to force them to pay more for gifts and food during the holidays.”
In another post on November 5, she focused on economic and healthcare priorities ahead of upcoming elections: “Lower prices. Protect people’s health care. If you don’t, you will lose elections.”
Later that day, Trahan drew attention to environmental concerns impacting several communities along the Merrimack River. She wrote, “Combined sewer overflows continue to hurt the Merrimack River – from Manchester to Lowell, Lawrence, Methuen & Haverhill all the way out to Newburyport and everywhere in between. Congress must pass my bipartisan Stop Sewage Overflow Act to upgrade our water systems and protect”.
Trahan has served as a member of Congress since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019. She was born in Lowell in 1973 and currently resides in Westford. Before her congressional tenure, she also served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
