Lori Trahan, serving as a member of the U.S. Congress for Massachusetts’ 3rd District, has been active in addressing various national and local concerns through her legislative initiatives and public communications. Representing the district since 2019, she succeeded Niki Tsongas, after previously serving in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, Trahan has been outspoken on issues affecting both her constituents and the broader American public.

On April 8, 2025, Trahan tweeted about introducing the bipartisan BRAIN Act, aimed at accelerating research on life-threatening brain tumors in the U.S. Trahan expressed that “more than a million Americans are currently battling cancerous brain tumors,” and the act is designed to drive new treatments and provide hope to affected individuals and their families.

The following day, April 9, 2025, Trahan criticized certain public health decisions made by prominent figures and former President Trump, addressing pandemic response issues, array responses, and pointing out the economic impacts of tariffs on healthcare. She stated that Democrats from the Energy and Commerce Committee intend to hold accountable the individuals and entities responsible, imploring: “@EnergyCommerce Democrats will do what Republicans won’t: Hold this administration accountable.”

On the same day, April 9, 2025, Trahan addressed a tragic incident involving a nightclub collapse in the Dominican Republic. This incident significantly affected families in her district, particularly in Lawrence. Trahan reported that in the aftermath of the disaster, she and her team maintained “constant communication with the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Embassy in Washington.”
