Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district, posted on her official Twitter account about her opposition to federal funding cuts affecting community organizations and Planned Parenthood.
On December 7, 2025, Trahan wrote: “Earlier this year, the Trump administration tried to cut funding for community action agencies like @Comm_Team & @GLCACInc that help vulnerable families keep a roof over their heads, put food on the table and get ahead. I’m fighting back against these cuts.”

The following day, December 8, 2025, Trahan addressed another funding issue: “I fought the dangerous GOP plan to defund @PPact when they passed it in Congress. Now, we’re fighting it in the courts. I stand with Planned Parenthood and the millions of women across America who depend on the vital care their clinics provide. https://t.co/ewLfc1NqDu”
Trahan’s comments reflect ongoing debates in Congress over federal support for social programs and reproductive health services. Community action agencies such as Community Teamwork Inc. (@Comm_Team) and Greater Lawrence Community Action Council (@GLCACInc) play roles in assisting low-income families with basic needs.
Planned Parenthood (@PPact), which provides healthcare services including reproductive care for millions of women nationwide, has been a focal point of partisan disputes over government funding.
Since joining Congress in 2019 after replacing Niki Tsongas, Lori Trahan has represented Massachusetts’ 3rd District. She previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and is a graduate of Georgetown University.
