On April 21, 2025, Trahan acknowledged the impact of Pope Francis, referring to him as “a transformational leader.” She praised his qualities of humility, compassion, and moral clarity, highlighting the late pontiff’s Argentine heritage as an immigrant and his profound global influence.

Later that day, Trahan turned her attention to the Boston Marathon, applauding the determination and spirit that participants exhibit. She described the marathon as one of Massachusetts’ proudest traditions, encouraging the runners as they embarked on the legendary 129th race.

In a tweet on April 22, Trahan spoke about the natural beauty within the Third District, from the Merrimack River to Walden Pond. Reflecting on Earth Day, she underscored the urgency of the climate crisis, remarking, “We don’t have time to wait – the climate crisis demands…” reinforcing her commitment to environmental stewardship.

Lori Trahan, born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1973, has been representing Massachusetts’s 3rd District in Congress since 2019, succeeding Niki Tsongas. Prior to her tenure in Congress, Trahan served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and graduated from Georgetown University in 1995.
