Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, has used her social media platform to address a range of policy issues in early April 2026.
On April 6, Trahan commented on the need for updated internet safety laws, stating, “The internet is constantly evolving, but the laws meant to keep us safe online are decades behind. I’m proud to be leading the way in Congress to close that gap, protect our kids online, and hold tech companies accountable.”
Later that day, she addressed housing affordability in Massachusetts and criticized former President Donald Trump’s trade policies: “As we fight to build more housing and lower costs across the Commonwealth, Donald Trump’s tariffs stifle our progress. Rising costs and stalled projects are putting the dream of an affordable home for hardworking families further out of reach.”
On April 7, Trahan responded to recent political rhetoric regarding foreign affairs: “This is completely beyond the pale. This thoughtless, reckless rhetoric destabilizes an already volatile situation, weakens America’s standing abroad, and makes us less safe. This war needs to end. Speaker Johnson must bring Congress back to DC to reassert our authority before”
Trahan has represented Massachusetts’s 3rd District since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019. She previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and was born in Lowell in 1973. Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995 and currently resides in Westford.
