Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, used her Twitter account on December 16, 2025, to address several issues related to health care and online safety.
In a post from the afternoon of December 16, Trahan criticized Congressional Republicans regarding upcoming changes in health care costs. She stated, “Republicans in Congress have no plan to stop the health care price hike that will hit 20 million Americans in January. @HouseDemocrats have a plan to protect Americans’ health care. We just need the GOP to work with us.”
Later that day, Trahan highlighted developments in local cancer care services. In her tweet at 17:23 UTC, she wrote, “Big news! @umassmemorial is bringing state of the art cancer care to Marlborough, expanding access, reducing travel burdens and improving outcomes for patients across our region! Patients will now have access to lifesaving cancer care closer to home!”
In an evening post on December 16, Trahan addressed concerns about children’s online safety and social media companies. She posted, “Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, purposely targets our children and monetizes their data. It’s a national embarrassment that Congress has been unable to act to protect our kids online. While Washington stalls, I’m glad that Massachusetts continues to lead.”
Trahan’s remarks come as she continues her tenure in Congress after succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019. Before serving at the federal level, she was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
