Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, shared several updates on her social media accounts in early January 2026, ranging from holiday greetings to commentary on domestic and international political issues.
On January 2, Trahan posted a New Year’s greeting: “Happy New Year! Wishing you and your family a joyful 2026!”
Later that day, she addressed health care concerns, writing on January 2: “Yesterday, health care prices began skyrocketing for millions of Americans – all because Republicans in Washington refuse to act. They have no plan.”
On January 3, Trahan commented on the political situation in Venezuela: “Maduro is a dictator whose brutal, antidemocratic rule has brought immense suffering to the Venezuelan people. His repression and corruption are well documented and deserve condemnation. Acknowledging that reality does not justify the Trump administration bypassing Congress,”
Trahan has represented Massachusetts’s 3rd District in Congress since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019 and previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1973 and resides in Westford. Trahan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
