Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, recently addressed health care and medical innovation in a series of posts on her official social media account.
On September 18, 2025, Trahan posted about the challenges patients face accessing new medical devices. She wrote, “When the FDA determines a breakthrough medical device is safe and effective, patients shouldn’t have to wait years to benefit from it. That’s why I introduced the bipartisan Ensuring Patient Access to Critical Breakthrough Products Act – to ensure that the most innovative,” (September 18, 2025).
Earlier that same day, she shared a link without additional comment: “https://t.co/mBRf1Mqh8O” (September 18, 2025).
On September 19, Trahan criticized recent Republican actions related to health care policy. She stated, “Just weeks after gutting Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for their billionaire donors, Republicans are now voting to let 22 million Americans’ health care premiums skyrocket – because Donald Trump told them to. I voted NO on the Trump CR. We must protect Americans’ health care.” (September 19, 2025).
Trahan has been active in Congress since succeeding Niki Tsongas in 2019 and previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, she graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
