Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, addressed several public issues in a series of tweets on October 8, 2025. Trahan, who succeeded Niki Tsongas and previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, highlighted fire safety, health care premiums, and veterans’ programs.
In recognition of Fire Prevention Week, Trahan posted: “It’s Massachusetts Fire Prevention Week! As we prepare for the temperature to drop, take action now to prevent dangerous fires before they start.
Make a plan, test your smoke alarms, and ensure your lithium-ion batteries are charged and stored safely!” (October 8, 2025).
Later that day, she commented on anticipated increases in health care costs: “Even Republicans are admitting it: Millions of Americans are about to see their health care premiums skyrocket.
The time to stop the GOP health care price hike is NOW.

In another post, Trahan criticized former President Donald Trump regarding veterans’ programs: “Why did Donald Trump defund Massachusetts’ only federally funded pre-college program for veterans?
No servicemember or veteran should be used as a pawn in Trump’s shutdown game.

Trahan was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1973 and currently resides in Westford. She graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
