Lori Trahan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, has been vocal on various issues through her social media platform. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, and a graduate of Georgetown University, Trahan continues to address concerns pertinent to her constituents.
On July 8, 2025, Trahan criticized former President Donald Trump for allegedly politicizing educational funding. In her post she stated, “Donald Trump is playing politics with our children’s futures. Because this White House is withholding federal education funding, school districts may have to cancel vital programs, stop hiring teachers or delay important planning for the fall.” She urged for the immediate release of these funds.
In another post on the same day, Trahan expressed admiration for the developments at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She remarked “Every time I step foot on @UMassLowell’s campus, I’m reminded of what’s possible when bold ideas meet committed leadership — a future where innovation thrives, opportunity grows and students can launch meaningful careers right here in the Mill City.” Her comments reflect an appreciation for local educational advancements and opportunities.
