Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, used her social media platform on December 15, 2025, to address rising costs and food assistance challenges faced by American families.

In a post published at 17:11 UTC, Trahan wrote, “Costs are rising, and it’s making life unaffordable for hardworking families who just want to get ahead.

If Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress continue refusing to work with Democrats to lower prices, the American people will hold them accountable.”

Later that day at 21:25 UTC, she highlighted the efforts of organizations addressing food insecurity. She stated, “Vital organizations like @projectbread have stepped up time and time again this year. When Republicans cut SNAP funding, they responded. When Trump withheld food assistance during the shutdown, they filled the void.

They always show up for people in need, and I will always show”. The post was followed by a separate link-only tweet: “https://t.co/31jOXyzdkf”.

Project Bread is a Massachusetts-based nonprofit focused on providing food assistance to residents in need. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has been subject to funding debates in Congress in recent years.

Trahan succeeded Niki Tsongas as representative of Massachusetts’ 3rd district and previously served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Lowell in 1973 and currently residing in Westford, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University.
