Lori Trahan, U.S. Congresswoman representing Massachusetts’ 3rd district since 2019, addressed several key issues in a series of posts on September 4, 2025, including campus safety at UMass Lowell, the release of Epstein files, and the legacy of Billie Jean King.
On September 4, Trahan commented on a recent incident at UMass Lowell that affected students and parents during their first day of classes. She wrote: “Yesterday was a scary day – not just for @UMassLowell students and parents on their first day of classes, but for our entire city. I’m grateful to our first responders who responded quickly and effectively to keep our community safe.
Thank you @LowellPD, @UMLPDLowell &” (posted September 4, 2025).
Later that day, Trahan addressed the ongoing public interest in releasing documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. She stated: “Releasing the Epstein files isn’t just politics. It’s about truth, accountability and justice for survivors of human trafficking and sexual assault.
Thank you @RepPressley for making sure the voices of survivors remain at the center of this fight.” (posted September 4, 2025).
In another post recognizing women’s sports leadership, Trahan highlighted Billie Jean King’s influence: “Billie Jean King blazed a trail for millions of women athletes like me. Today women’s sports are exploding in popularity thanks to her work. Thank you @BillieJeanKing for your lifetime commitment to women’s sports!” (posted September 4, 2025).
Trahan was born in Lowell in 1973 and currently resides in Westford. She graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995. Before joining Congress after replacing Niki Tsongas in 2019, she served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
