These former Merrimack Valley area high school athletes are set to compete on Friday, April 24.

Derek Munroe of UMass Lowell has been named America East Men’s Indoor Track and Field Winter Scholar-Athlete for his academic and athletic accomplishments. He set a school record in heptathlon while maintaining high grades in graduate studies.

UMass Lowell women’s track and field team held its home meet while also competing at an invitational event in Virginia. Several athletes achieved personal bests across various disciplines according to Associate Head Coach Ally Waruch.

UMass Lowell defeated Merrimack 10–8 after scoring five runs in the second inning on April 22. Carlos Martinez led offensively as several players contributed key hits and pitchers secured their first career win and save.

UMass Lowell softball split its doubleheader at Stonehill on April 22, winning one game and losing another. Key performances included Thyanais Santiago’s four hits across both games and Olivia DeCitise’s complete-game win.

UMass Lowell baseball will host Merrimack midweek before starting a conference series against Bryant. The River Hawks look to improve their America East standing after splitting four games last week.

These ex-Merrimack Valley area high school standouts will participate in competitions on Wednesday, April 22.

On Tuesday, April 21, these former Merrimack Valley area high school stars will be competing.

UMass Lowell lost a close contest against UMBC by one run after multiple lead changes. Key performances included Sean O’Leary’s home run and late-inning rallies from both teams.

The upcoming week starting Monday, April 20 will feature these former Merrimack Valley area high school athletes.
